Seeing an OBGYN

There are a variety of reasons why you may visit our OBGYN. This could be for a planned annual exam or if you’re dealing with vaginal pain or irregular periods. Dr. William can also guide you on the journey to find a birth control method that works for you and your lifestyle. It’s important to know that our OBGYN is here to do what’s best for you and your health and can be a useful tool to have.

At an annual exam, our OBGYN may perform a pelvic exam to ensure that there are no issues that are going untreated. A Pap smear may also be needed if you are not up to date. If you get a normal result back, your test is good for 5 years. They’ll also perform a breast exam and make sure that there aren’t any abnormalities.

Your first appointment with your OBGYN should be anywhere between the ages of 13 and 15. At a first visit, your OBGYN will ask questions about your overall health, and history, and questions about your menstrual period, and sexual activities. This helps them provide the care that you need. It’s important to see our OBGYN at least once a year and anytime you experience any irregularities with your reproductive health.
